So that anyone concerned hears from me first, Terry has been deported. Because we're married and also went public with X-Factor I couldn't just hide her. She's back in Ireland and since I'll probably be visiting her often; if anyone decides they'd like to come along on a trip or two just let me know.

9:50 am - of Deportation and X-Factor

Today I have announced to our government the existence of a mutant investigations team called X-Factor and that I am openly unregistered and leading it. Prior to this announcement the military projects I was formerly affiliated with were capable of quietly ignoring my failure to comply. I have removed that option. I am using all of our resources to lobby for the removal the registration process that requires any permanent identifying marks on the skin of any individual and the reversal of any identifying marks already administered.
By October 1st I will have founded a number of safe houses for any person wishing to stay in this country without undergoing the process of permanent identifying registration. I urge every person who is opposed to the process to support X-Factor in any way possible, within the bounds of all other laws. Until this is resolved X-Factor will not be accepting any other cases unless they involve the actual or potential loss of life.
At X-Factor we recognize that there are a number of conflicting political theories within the county, advocated by many different groups, about how the existence of mutants sound be handled. We are, as always, unaffiliated with any of these groups. We hope that everyone can put aside their differences for a time so we can all focus on this single, unacceptable development. Requiring any person to alter their body is unacceptable and will not be followed.

BASIC POWERS: Havok absorbs ambient cosmic radiation, which his body converts into an unknown process, to be released in waves of energy that superheat the air in their path, turning it into plasma. The energy Alex emits would travel in every direction if not purposefully channeled in one.
ADVANCED POWERS: Alex is immune to intense heat, all sorts of radiation, and the powers of his brother. He can siphon off radiation or heat from mutants that use those forces to drive their powers (The Hulk, for example) to neutralize them. Also, he can control the strength of his energy blasts, which at full energy often make the things they strike shatter, explode, or disintegrate but at low power act concussively and even leave a person with not much more then an intense headache.
LATENT POWERS: None
SIGNATURE MOVE(S) In hand to hand combat Alex often breaks joins and strikes sensitive areas as quickly as possible. With his powers he likes to trap people by blowing the ground out from under them, then letting something very big and heavy fall over the hole.
LIMITATIONS/WEAKNESSES: Any unconsciousness or mind control inflicted on Alex without his containment suit on could lead to his somewhat unstable powers erupting in all directions. Because he is constantly absorbing energy his bones and joins are often stiff and painful, leading him to pace, fidget, and even on bad days overcompensate due to being in pain making him feel weak.

Appearance: Alex is a very relaxed looking man. His stance, dress, and style all betray a messy confidence that his constant 5 o'clock shadow accents. His 6' frame is well maintained, not overly muscled nor a malnourished slim appearance. Alex's blonde hair and bright blue eyes draw the most attention to him, never to his complaint.
Gift(s) - Alex was gifted with the ability to absorb ambient cosmic energy and release this energy as plasma based blasts, making him resistant to most forms of radiation and heat. General Personality: Alex is much more personable then his older brother. He thrives on conversation and social situations. More noticeably, he's quite an emotional (sometimes cocky) man. This leads to a number of conflicts with the more restrained people in his life, notably Scott. A leader in his own right, Alex is far from conventional. He opposes or supports ideas far too stubbornly and will fight with even team mates relentlessly up until the moment that they must accomplish something. When events become dire, Alex can always be depended upon.
History:
Alexander Summers is the child of Christopher and Katherine Summers, born in Honolulu Hawaii six years after his older brother. His life was far from eventful until a doomed flight the then five year old Alex experienced. Shot down by a Shi'ar cruiser Scott and Alex survived but their parents were not so lucky.
The social workers loved Alex and so did adoptive parents. Very quickly he was placed in a permanent home; however it was not with his brother. Raised by the Blandings Alex did not manifest his abilities for years. He did, however, notice Scott's abilities from afar, his success, and his celebrity status begin to rise.
While visiting his home with the Blandings after his finals senior of college Alex took his adoptive sister Haley out for a night of fun. For Alex such a night consists of quite the social event and after a long night of various clubs and drinking Haley drove him home. While on their way to the car they confronted by an abusive old boyfriend of Haley’s. Alex, cocky and loud as ever, was struck with a punch leading to the violent manifestation of his powers. An uncontrollable explosion of plasma left Haley in critical condition, the man was even less fortunate; being instantly killed.
Alex left his home distraught; seeking refuge at the Institute, knowing Scott had found a home there. He studied under Xavier and Wolverine almost exclusively and quite privately, still afraid of his abilities and what they may do to the others at the school if an accident were to happen. He was a very dedicated pupil and had amazing success in all areas except mastering his abilities. In 2002 Alex left the Institute, his disappearance was a complete mystery to everyone.
Alex had been abducted by Stryker at the beginning of his mutant control program. Despite a valiant fight leaving quite a bit of destruction in his wake due to uncontrollable blasts, Alex was captured. It took months of torture before Alex’s will was broken and forced to work for the man; though he has never spoken of what he was forced to do. Equipped with a containment suit he was titled 'Havok' by his controller.
In a little over a year SHIELD liberated Alex, but to him it felt like a lifetime. Havok's dedications to taking control of his life lead him to stay at the institute for another few months. Stuck to the sidelines his jealousy of Scott's success would have festered; and recognizing this he took an invitation offered by the U.S government to form a team of mutants under the guidance of SHIELD in 2003, the predecessor unit to the U.S. Coalition of Mutants. After years of service the Coalition was formed and its rising success caused Alex to be faced with the choice of moving into the public spotlight or retiring, he chose the latter.
